Job description

Our client is a leading international advisory firm which focuses on providing commercial business advice to companies operating in emerging markets. They are currently looking for a Portuguese speaker for their London office to focus on work in Africa.

​​Senior Consultants are experienced case managers who consistently deliver the very highest standards of casework and client service. They have excellent subject matter expertise and are highly skilled in the successful execution of investigative research. They mentor junior colleagues effectively, and play a key role in project team managers to achieve KPIs.

Role overview:

Senior Consultants are responsible for handling a full spectrum of investigative assignments, both independently and as part of a team. They exhibit technical and operational expertise in delivering industry leading, client-ready work product. Senior Consultants are also innovative and resourceful in the execution of unorthodox assignments.

Senior Consultants are effective and confident communicators, they are excellent writers able to interact fluently and intelligently with clients and colleagues. They demonstrate a clear capacity to explain complex issues with clarity and concision. Senior Consultants play a key role in mentoring and training junior members of staff, overseeing their research techniques and work product. Senior Consultants understand the importance of administrative and financial discipline in a professional services context. They perform a number of tasks to ensure their team meets or exceeds prescribed KPIs. The role is client-facing and Senior Consultants are expected to represent the company confidently and unsupervised.

Key responsibilities (including % to be time spent on each area)

- Investigative research:65%

- Directly undertake (and manage the delivery by others of) a full repertoire of casework.

- Mentoring and training:20%

- Supervise and train junior staff members and assist senior colleagues in evaluating staff progress.

Business development and marketing:10%

- Participate in marketing, including attending and speaking at internal and external events, writing content for marketing materials.

- Support senior management in business development activities as required including by attending client meetings and conferences.

Administration:5%

- Responsible for accurately and promptly maintaining and submitting timesheets, ensuring contracts and invoices are prepared accurately, sent to clients promptly, and settled/returned as quickly as possible.

- Demonstrate best practices in storing proprietary information including onto Salesforce, internal databases, Google Drive and other archives, as prescribed in company guidelines. Actively

monitor junior staff members’ compliance with those guidelines.
